Tara D. Phoenix

Tara D. Phoenix is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Legal Services. Tara is the Director of Continuing Legal Education for the Philadelphia Bar Association. Founded in 1802, the Philadelphia Bar Association is the oldest association of lawyers in the United States. With over 12,000 members including the Mayor of Philadelphia and the Governor of Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Bar Association is one of the most popular and well-known legal organizations in the nation. The combination of experience and skills Tara has gained over the past 20 years in the adult education and compliance industry are critical to developing, coordinating, managing and administering continuing legal education (CLE) programs. Tara also has a background in computer networks and data communication, which provides her with a bit of an upper hand in legal education. She consistently maneuvers a delicate balance between dedication to the quality production of CLE services, the need for bold outside income initiatives and the application of sound business management while being adept at critical thinking when faced with changing socioeconomic issues that affect her nonprofit’s bottom line. Tara’s position’s responsibilities allow her to be extremely well versed in the industry. Additionally, Tara works in the areas of accreditation, audio/visual work, budgeting, curriculum development, production cost, recruiting and various registration needs and support services. Recognized as an NAPW VIP Woman of The Year, Tara is a member of the National Association of Professional Women and the Barristers Association of Philadelphia. Tara’s advice to those entering the workforce is to “always be willing to listen and grow and to stay grounded. You cannot think you are irreplaceable.” Outside of work, Tara enjoys public speaking, mentoring, sports, the arts and socializing with her family and loved ones. When time allows, she does a lot of speaking and mentoring for nonprofit groups, friends’ organizations and associations, baking, creating dishes and writing her cookbooks. A graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania, Tara attained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice. She later earned a 4.0 upon graduation from the Chubb Institute with a Computer Networks and Data Communications diploma. In the years to come, she would like to enroll in graduate school towards her Master’s degree in Legal Studies and Education Administration. For more information, please visit www.philadelphiabar.org.
