John N. Hamiel, PharmD

John N. Hamiel, Pharm.D., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Healthcare. His professional title is Director of Pharmacy for Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare. A 511-bed, nonprofit, comprehensive medical/surgical facility providing acute medical services throughout countless primary care and specialty providers, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare is home to patients seeking healthcare services including various cancer treatments, cardiology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, a neonatal intensive care unit and a maternity unit — as well as minimally invasive and Bariatric surgery. Specializing in pharmaceutical and managed care and pharmacology, Dr. Hamiel has been the Director of Pharmacy at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare for the past seven years. In addition, Dr. Hamiel is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Iowa. The recipient of the 2004 Hospital Preceptor of the Year award from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, Dr. Hamiel is a member of the American Society of HealthSystem Pharmacists, the American Public Health Association and the American College of Clinical Pharmacology. Dr. Hamiel supports organizations such as United Way and Embrac. Outside of work, he enjoys bike riding, volleyball and spending time with his granddaughter. A graduate of the University of Iowa, Dr. Hamiel attained both his Doctor of Pharmacy and Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from the university.
