The process starts with the training of key employees, who regularly write documents according to the identified needs of the company. Michel was employed for 36 years in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Human Resources Logistics Officer and was awarded three commendations during his career. He has practical experience in the management and delivery of personnel services, writing projects, teaching adults and re-engineering organizational processes. As a highly creative and energetic individual, Michel is a perfectionist, always aiming for the most efficient and effective business solution.

In 1977, Michel was accepted in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Regular Officer Training program. He was first accepted in the Maritime Surface/Subsurface occupation. But he was not comfortable on board a ship. He was later transferred to his first occupational choice; Logistics Human Resources Officer. Upon completion of a bachelor degree in Business Administration in 1980, he was posted to Cold Lake, 434 Squadron, then 3rd wing Bagotville, and then Canadian Forces Logistic Training Centre. He trained officers and non-commissioned members for three years.

Michel returned to Bagotville as the Wing HR Logistics Officer. Under his command, his section received a commendation for exceptional achievement in the preparation of troops and family services for the Persian Gulf War. With the cooperation of both, key wing staff, and his staff, he redesigned the process to prepare troops for their operational deployment and to orchestrate the services to support families.

Michel was then posted to the National Headquarters Ottawa. After earning another commendation for significantly improving the effectiveness and credibility of the Career Medical Review Board process Michel decided to create his business.

Michel earned a third commendation before retiring from the Regular Forces. Michel was able to  accomplish more with less. His initiatives, creativity, and effectiveness were so effective that they improved business processes to the point that overtime was eliminated, more caseloads were processed, and decisions were submitted to military members with more clarity and shorter delays, thus making good use of human capability and information technology.

He joined the Reserves as the training officer of the CAF Joint Personnel Support Unit (JPSU) from 2007 until his release in 2013. JPSU is the one-stop national unit providing service to assist families of deceased, ill and injured military members and veterans. His main task was to teach, manage, train other trainers and monitor the national training standards for the officers designated to be the link and assist families of deceased and ill and injured military members with the JPSU services.

Michel is the proud father of four adult sons. He likes to keep fit and focused by playing squash, curling, doing hot yoga. POPSCOM’s vision and mission is to create high impact communications that lead to measurable improvements.
