Ann Moliver Ruben

Ann Moliver Ruben, Ph.D., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional Member in the Psychology field. Dr. Ruben serves as a Psychologist in private practice. She has served the field for the past 40 years and brings particular expertise in the areas of marriage counseling and women’s advocacy to her role. After growing up during the Great Depression, Dr. Ruben lived by the philosophy to “never give up on your dreams and to have courage.” Dr. Ruben earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1961. She then went on to complete her Master of Education degree in 1965 as well as a Fellowship with the Maurice Falk Medical Foundation through the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned her Ph.D. To further her professional development, Dr. Ruben is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment, the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the Florida Association of Marriage and Family. In addition to her work in practice, Dr. Ruben is the published author of “Our Teachers Are Crying: The Memoirs of a Happy Psychologist” as well as numerous other titles. As a testament to her outstanding professional work, Dr. Ruben has been recognized with a number of honors and awards, including: 1982 Marital and Family Therapy Fellowship or Achievements in Women’s Advocacy; 1988 Special Recognition Award from the Association Award from the Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment; 1988 Dropout Advisory Commission Award; 1995 Woman of Distinction Award from the American Association of University Women; and the 1996 Unsung Heroine Award, to name a few. “The key to my success is that I have always loved what I did,” Dr. Ruben said. When not working, Dr. Ruben previously volunteered her time to the Alliance for Aging as well as the Jewish Vocational Services, and still serves as President of the B’nai B’rith Women’s Association in Miami. She also enjoys writing, golf and playing bridge, as well as spending time with her three sons who are all feminists. Dr. Ruben dedicates this recognition to the loving memory of her father, Max “Mottie” Moliver, who told her never to give up.
