Dr. Harold J. Wanebo is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Prominent Lifetime Achiever Member in the field of medicine for his role as a Director of Surgical Oncology at Roger Williams Medical Center and his own private practice.

Dr. Wanebo is an established surgical oncologist; he served his patients at the Roger Williams Medical Center, a university- affiliated teaching hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, and at his own private practice. His main focus was on the surgical treatment of a variety of tumors. Prior to embarking in his career in the medical field, He spent two years in the Army, where he served a year in Vietnam. Dr. Wanebo also helped to create the University of Virginia Surgical Oncology program, as well as serving as a public and national speaker where he has participated in over 100 speaking engagements, and is a published author as well.
With an exceptional educational background, Dr. Wanebo earned his M.D. at the University of Colorado Medical School, and earned his B.S. at the Regis College. He then went on to complete his residencies at University of California in San Francisco, Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York and the Bellevue Hospital in New York.
Along with an illustrious career background, Dr. Wanebo is also affiliated with the following associations: The American Surgical Association, College of Surgeons, Society of Surgical Oncology, American Head and Neck Society, American Society for Clinical Oncology, American Association for cancer Research, New England Surgical Society and the American Cancer Society. Dr. Wanebo has been married to his wife for over 50 years, and since retiring he enjoys skiing and listening to classical piano music.
