Marc M. Sedwitz, MD, FACS

Marc M. Sedwitz, MD, FACS is recognized by Continental Who’s Who in the field of Medicine as a Pinnacle Top Doctor as a Vascular Surgeon at Pacific Coast Vascular and General Surgery. Specializing in General Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, Vascular Surgery, and Oncology, Marc M. Sedwitz, MD, FACS is a Vascular Surgery Specialist on La Jolla, CA and he is affiliated with Scripps Clinic, John R. Anderson V Medical Pavilion.  

Practicing medicine for over 41 years, Dr. Sedwitz was Chief of Staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital in 2010 and 2011. Currently, he is the President of Scripps Ximed Medical Center and is an active trauma team physician at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla where he performs all the general surgery for the group. Throughout his education and training, Dr. Sedwitz received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Boston University School of Medicine in 1978. Following this, Dr. Sedwitz completed his residency in general surgery at New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center in 1983 and his fellowship of vascular surgery at the University of California, San Francisco in 1984.  

Dr. Sedwitz is certified by the American Board of Surgery, Vascular Surgery (1987) and the American Board of Surgery, General Surgery (1985).  

To further his professional development, Dr. Sedwitz holds a membership with the Society for Vascular Surgery and the American College of Surgeons;, and he is affiliated with Pomerado Hospital Mammoth and Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.  

In acknowledgement of his professional accolades, Dr. Sedwitz was honored as a 2017 Top Doctor in La Jolla California and as a San Diego County Medical Society “Top Docs” Award Winner. He received Honorable Awards from San Diego Magazine as one of their “Top Docs” from 2008-2014. Also, Dr. Sedwitz earned the title of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Sedwitz dedicates this recognition with special thanks to his mentor, Malcom Perry MD.
