Following this, Dr. Sedwitz completed his residency in general surgery at New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center in 1983 and his fellowship of vascular surgery at the University of California, San Francisco in 1984.
Dr. Sedwitz is certified by the American Board of Surgery, Vascular Surgery (1987) and the American Board of Surgery, General Surgery (1985).
To further his professional development, Dr. Sedwitz holds a membership with the Society for Vascular Surgery and the American College of Surgeons;, and he is affiliated with Pomerado Hospital Mammoth and Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.
In acknowledgement of his professional accolades, Dr. Sedwitz was honored as a 2017 Top Doctor in La Jolla California and as a San Diego County Medical Society “Top Docs” Award Winner. He received Honorable Awards from San Diego Magazine as one of their “Top Docs” from 2008-2014. Also, Dr. Sedwitz earned the title of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
