Sadiqa K. Stelzner, MD, MA, FAAO, FACS, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Ophthalmology as the Owner and Ophthalmologist of Santa Monica Eye Medical Group.

Located in west of Los Angeles near ocean, Santa Monica Eye Medical Group provides cutting edge eye care to patients in the greater Los Angeles area. Services include comprehensive exams, LASIK, glaucoma treatment, eyelid surgery, and cataract surgery. In addition to ophthalmology services, the doctors at the practice offer aesthetic treatments such as laser rejuvenation, skin tightening, rosacea/dry eye IPL and laser fat reduction along with Botox and fillers.

Backed by over two decades of professional excellence, Dr. Stelzner is one of the best ophthalmologists in Los Angeles County. She has served in her current capacity since 2004. Her areas of expertise include advanced cataract surgery, including Femtolaser and premium Intra Ocular Lens, Lasik, aesthic surgery, and all clinical and administrative duties. In addition to her role at the medical group, she is an associate clinical professor at David Geffen School of Medicine/Jules Stein Eye Institute where she attends the UCLA ophthalmology residents. She loves teaching residents, who keep her engaged and fuel every moment of her day. Previously, she served as the director of eye care at the Greater Los Angeles Veterans’ Hospital.

A hard-working and dedicated immigrant, Dr. Stelzner moved to the U.S. without any established background. The key to her success has been diligence, a hunger for knowledge, and a positive attitude. When asked what advice she would give to new doctors, she states, “Give your best and stay positive and current with your knowledge and skills with a best bed side manor.” She lives by this motto, treating patients how she would like to be treated.

Enthusiastic about science and innovation, Dr. Stelzner earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and Master of Arts in cellular and molecular biology from UCLA. She transitioned to Boston University for medical school, receiving a Doctorate of Medicine. For post education training, she worked at the University of Washington for a residency in ophthalmology and at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School as a research fellow. The National Institute of Health awarded her a fellowship award for her training at the Brigham and Women’s Harvard Hospital. She attended Yale university school of Business for executive training program. A

frontrunner in her field, Dr. Stelzner serves as a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons. She is a member of the American Academy of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the California Academy of Eye Physician and Surgeons. An active member of her community, she volunteers as a board member for Oxford Foundation.

On top of these achievements, Dr. Stelzner has operated over 13,000 cataract and laser surgeries. She has received recognition for her accomplishments many times, including when 400,000 users chose her as Best Doctor on Health Tap. Her peers have selected her as a super doctor by Los Angeles Magazine and vital health.

Outside of work, Dr. Stelzner enjoys cycling, hiking, practicing yoga, and spending time with her children.
