Ravi Shridhar, MD, Ph.D. is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Distinguished Doctor in the field of Medicine and for his remarkable contributions as a Radiation Oncologist with Advent Health Medical Group.
Board-certified Radiation Oncologist, Dr. Ravi Shridhar is currently serving residents of Orlando and Springs, Florida as a prominent member of the Advent Health Medical Group. He has garnered a well-deserving reputation for the past 15 years among the state’s most distinguished cancer specialists, demonstrating the highest level of professional excellence in his field. In his current capacity, he is focused on improving patient care through novel clinical trial development, design of innovative radiation therapy techniques, and expanded multidisciplinary collaboration with surgical and medical oncologists to provide the best possible care for his patients. He also utilizes his commendable repertoire of expertise in the delivery of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) to lung, pancreas, liver, and adrenal primary and metastatic tumors, as well as the treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies, such as cancer of the esophagus, pancreas, rectum, gallbladder and bile ducts. Dr. Shridhar joined AdventHealth Medical Group’s flagship radiation oncology practice from Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, where he served as Chief of Radiation Oncology GI Service and Chief of TheraSphere’s Radioembolization Service.
In light of his academic achievements, Dr. Shridhar received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Medical Degree, and Doctor of Pharmacology Degree in Cancer Biology from Wayne State University. He went on to complete an internship at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oaks, and Radiation Oncology residency at Detroit Medical Center-Karamanos Cancer Institute. Since then, he maintains active positions on several national medical committees, as well as memberships in American Society for Radiation Oncology, Southwest Oncology Group, and the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group.
Throughout his extensive career, He has also taught oncology to physicians in training, provided expert care to patients, and conducted in-depth medical research and clinical trials, including more than 140 peer-reviewed publications, scientific abstracts, and poster presentations. On a national level, he is serving on the faculty of the ASTRO E-Contouring course, teaching community radiation oncologists the complexities of treating esophageal cancer with radiation therapy. In addition, he is an instructor for a national board review course at the Osler Institute, preparing future radiation oncologists to manage the highly complex gastrointestinal malignancies they will see in their daily practice. Dr. Shridhar is an invited speaker at numerous national medical meetings, including the Advanced Users meeting for the treatment of liver cancers.
