Board-certified Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist, Dr. Mazhar has led an impressive career having accrued 14 years of professional experience in his field. He has dedicated training and unique experience in the management of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. He currently practices with the Veterans Affairs North Texas Health Care System, demonstrating the highest level of professionalism and integrity. In addition, he also serves as an Assistant Professor with the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Mazhar’s acclaimed career began in 2006 after he earned his Medical Degree from Rush Medical College. Following graduation, he completed his internal medicine residency with Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. Later, he completed his Hepatology and Liver Transplantation Fellowship with Baylor College of Medicine and his Gastroenterology Fellowship with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He is dual certified both in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
A frontrunner in his field, Dr. Mazhar is in constant pursuit to stay up to date on all the latest developments and technologies. He maintains active affiliations and memberships with the American Gastroenterological Association, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
