Michael E. Behen, Ph.D., LP, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the fields of Clinical Psychology, Education & Research; and acknowledgment of his role as Director & Clinical Psychologist with The Imagine Center for Psychological Health.
Established in 2008, The Imagine Center for Psychological Health is situated in three locations, consisting of highly experienced and qualified licensed psychologists, therapists, clinicians, and social workers. Collectively, they are all committed to making their patients’ mental health a priority. The group provides an extensive range of comprehensive services for the entire family, including various methods of psychotherapy and counseling, as well as psychological evaluation and assessment and ongoing family services and support. Furthermore, the center offers evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of problems such as abuse, neglect, addiction, anxiety, depression, divorce, LGBT identity or adjustment issues, legal problems, neuropsychological assessment, psychosis, suicidal thought, therapy, school truancy, and psychosomatic problems, among many more.
A licensed psychologist, Dr. Behen began his career after he graduated from Wayne University where he obtained his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Since then, he has led an impressive career attaining excellent professional experience in psychology, education, and research. His areas of expertise include clinical psychology and neuroscience. Dr. Behen has devoted the past 12 years serving children, adults, and entire families in the Southeastern Michigan area. In addition to his role at The Imagine Center for Psychological Health, he is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. In this role, he directs the Neuropsychology Clinics, in the Department of Pediatric Neurology, and also the Neuropsychological Component of the Children’s Hospital of Michigan (CHM) Translational Imaging Center.
Throughout his acclaimed career, Dr. Behen has attained extensive experience as an NIH funded neuroscience researcher and currently works as part of the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Translational Imaging Center, a world-renowned neuroscience research laboratory. Highly in demand, he also has treated, and/or supervised the treatment of, numerous children, adults, couples, and families in his therapeutic work at various centers including the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Dr. Behen is renowned for his research projects, including the functional and structural neural correlates of early severe social deprivation, neural correlates of differential care settings and behavioral phenotypes in Chinese children orphaned by AIDS, and neural correlates of various developmental disorders (e.g., autism spectrum disorders, language disorder) and neurologic (e.g., Sturge Weber Syndrome, Tuberous Sclerosis) conditions.
