Anne Mullen-Hohl, Ph.D. is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals as a result of her ongoing successes and role as Assistant Professor of Modern Languages at Seton Hall University. An expert in 19th and 20th century French Literature, Anne has a true passion for modern languages and enjoys teaching her students the ways of the French language. Throughout the course of her illustrious career, she has been the recipient of the Justin O'Brien Memorial Award, which is given periodically at the discretion of the French Department of Columbia University in recognition of distinguished dissertations, as well as being honored with the President's Fellowship for a consecutive three years at Columbia University. Professor Mullen-Hohl has also received the Charles Phelps Taft Postdoctoral Fellowship from the University of Cincinnati, and the Hewlett-Mellon Research Assistance Award from Wheaton College.
Furthermore, she is the author of “Exoticism in "Salammbô": The Languages of Myth, Religion, and War, and has published several articles among them including Articles in A Gustave Flaubert Encyclopedia, on Maryse Condé in Multicultural Writers Since 1945, and “La Question de l'oralité dans l'oeuvre de Maryse Condé” in Francographies: Métissage. Reflecting on her studies, Professor Mullen-Hohl earned a Ph.D. in French from Columbia University, a Master’s Degree in French from CUNY Queens College, as well as a second Master’s Degree in Philosophy from Columbia University. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Spanish with Honors from the University College Dublin.
