Urmala Roopnarinesingh

Urmala Roopnarinesingh is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Higher Education. Urmala is the Assistant Dean, Operations at the Barry University School of   Podiatric Medicine. Grounded in the liberal arts tradition, Barry University is a scholarly community committed to the highest academic standards in undergraduate, graduate and professional   education. In the Catholic intellectual tradition, integration of study, reflection and action inform the intellectual life. Throughout the course of her illustrious career, Urmala has gained vast knowledge and experience in healthcare, leadership, marketing, negations and more. Before becoming Assistant Dean, Operations, her past positions at Barry  University include Director of Continuing Medical Education at the School of Podiatric Medicine, and Director of Marketing and Advancement for the School of Nursing. A member of the National Association of Professional Women, Medical Group Management Association, and American College of Health Care Executives, Urmala received national recognition for her entry in the Hil-Rom Management Essay Competition in Healthcare.

Additionally, she was a founding officer and member of the Barry University Chapter of the Upsilon Phi Delta Honor  Society, and Barry University MSHSA Alumni Chapter. Urmala is charitable towards The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as well. Outside of work, she enjoys boating, fishing, golfing, traveling, and going to the beach. Urmala is currently pursuing her Ph.D in Leadership and Higher Education Administration from Barry University. She holds a Master of Science in Health Services Administration (MSHSA) from Barry University, and a BA in English Literature and Sociology from the University of the West Indies.
