Maryellen D. Van Royen, CHME, is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Hospitality. Maryellen is the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Hyatt Regency at Penn’s Landing. As Director of Sales and Marketing, Maryellen is responsible for the hotel’s sales and marketing, advertising, revenue management, and community and public relations. She has spent over two decades as a hospitality professional, and has shared her knowledge and experiences by mentoring hundreds of employees at iconic New York destinations including The Plaza Hotel, The New York Palace Hotel, Loews Regency, and American Express.
Maryellen holds a Marketing certificate from the Marketing program through New York University’s Hospitality program, as well as a Negotiations and Strategy certificate from theNegotiations Program at the Harvard Business School. She is a certified marketing executive with HSMAI. (Hospitality Sales and Marketing International)
Furthermore, she is a member of the Business Travel Association, Association of Corporate Travel Executives, and was a Board Member of Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association (HSMAI) - The Big Apple Chapter, HSMAI, International Women’s Leadership Association, (IWLA) and the National Association of Professional Women. Maryellen volunteers to local organizations including Rittenhouse Row and the Union Church of Bay Ridge.
In addition, she is an Elder within The Presbytery of USA and currently sits on the Children’s Committee at Old Pine Street Church in Philadelphia. Aside from the demands of work, Maryellen enjoys reading, travel, yoga, community services, and spending time with friends and family. She volunteers for www.littlesmiles.org and sponsors Jeny, a twelve year old in the Philippines. She earned a BS in Elementary Education from the University of Vermont.
