Nicholas Camu, Ph.D. is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Food Production as a result of his role as Group Sustainability Manager with Barry Callebaut. Barry Callebaut is the global leader in chocolate and cocoa innovations and provides a comprehensive range of services in the fields of product development, processing, training and marketing. Barry Callebaut is committed to a sustainable cocoa production through its “Cocoa Horizons” initiative and to help ensure future supplies of cocoa as well as improve farmer livelihoods.

As Group Sustainability Manager, Nicholas works closely with farmers in the development of products, as well as product marketing and development, project planning, team leadership and more. He is responsible for meeting the specific requirements of the grown cocoa for customers seeing as the growing consumer demand for chocolate is a critical challenge for the company. Additionally, Nicholas is one of the founders of Terra Cacao, which is a product of Barry Callebaut. Terra Cacao is the first chocolate ever to achieve such purity in taste. By achieving the purity level, Barry Callebaut has implemented the use of cocoa beans from Cameroonian and Javanese origins, offering a unique taste profile. Terra Cacao has been recognized as the winner of the FI Confectionery Innovation of the Year Excellence Award for 2011 and winner of the ‘Most Innovative Food Ingredient Award’ at FIE 2011 as well. Outside of work, Nicholas enjoys basketball, tennis, travel, and nature. He also speaks fluent English, Dutch, and French.
