Sue Elke

Sue Elke is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Healthcare. Sue has worked in healthcare compliance since early 1999, at the community hospital level, at an academic medical center, and a physician owned health system. At Advocate Sherman Hospital, the mission is to make  a positive difference through outstanding healthcare and service and its vision is to be come one of the best  community hospitals in the nation.

As Director of Compliance, Sue has focused on the  development and implementation of a well-rounded and  effective compliance program for the hospitals, ensured completion and roll-out of a risk assessment, established  a toll-free hotline number at all healthcare facilities, and  facilitated the ethical standard to which all staff and physicians were to conduct themselves with the hospital setting.

 

She specializes in various areas in healthcare and  healthcare management, health information management, health information technology, managed care, HIPAA, EMR, patient safety, revenue cycle and risk management. Outside of work, Sue enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is affiliated with programs such as St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and the American Lung Association. Throughout her educational career, Sue earned a Master  of Jurisprudence in Health Law from Loyola University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Illinois University.
