Dr. Jeffrey H. Sedgewick, O.D., M.D., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Medicine.
Dr. Sedgewick is an Ophthalmologist with his private practice, Sedgewick Eye Associates. A Board Certified Ophthalmologist, Dr. Sedgewick specializes in a variety of ophthalmologic services. A few of his areas of concentration include cataracts, laser treatments, macular degeneration, glaucoma and more. Dr. Sedgewick performs LASIK eye surgeries and helps patients find the proper eyeglasses within his pervasive designer collection of frames for men, women, children and teenagers. Before opening his practice in 2002, Dr. Sedgewick spent several years of military service as a Flight Surgeon for the United States Air Force at the Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota.
He also had served as Chief of Ophthalmology for the United States Air Force at the Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington, as well as Chief of Ophthalmology at the Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. Throughout the course of his military career, Dr. Sedgewick served as the Chief of Occupational Medicine for over 100 military shops. He is one of the select few ophthalmologists in the nation holding both Medical Doctor (M.D.) and Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) Degrees, and is licensed to practice medicine in Virginia and California.
Additionally, Dr. Sedgewick is the first Ophthalmologist in the state of Virginia to use Diopsys® NOVA-VEP Vision Testing, and authored an article that was featured in the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery in 2002. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, classic cars and investing. Dr. Sedgewick received his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree from Georgetown University, and also holds a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.)
