An enthusiastic, energetic health and wellness professional, Carolyn is a recreational therapist currently working within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation where she works with inmate patients in a variety of settings. Specializing in health and wellness, therapeutic recreation, leadership, time management, program development and more, Carolyn also maintains her home-based business and website, E-Scential Aromatherapy. E-Scential Aromatherapy forms individualized essential oils for memory stimulation and specialty oils for clients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease as well as relaxation massage oils. Additionally, Carolyn is an Independent Consultant with Arbonne International, where she works with clients seeking transformative products for the skin, hair and body. Furthermore, Carolyn is certified in Therapeutic Recreation and CPR, and is a Women’s Fitness and Senior Fitness Specialist as well. To keep up with the latest advancements in the industry, she maintains affiliation with the American Therapeutic Recreation Association, California Park and Recreation Association, National Academy of Sports Medicine and the National Association of Professional Women, where she was recognized as a VIP Woman of the Year.
Outside of work, Carolyn enjoys aromatherapy, beading, ballroom dancing, spending time with friends and family and music. She donates her charity to organizations including the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. Carolyn earned her BS and BA Degrees in Recreation Therapy and Liberal Studies with minors in Health Science, HDEV and Women’s Studies from California State University at East Bay. She also holds an Associate’s Degree in Engineering and Speech Therapy from San Joaquin Delta College.
