David W. Quinto is recognized by Continental Who’s Who in the field of Legal Services. David is a Founding Partner of Kupferstein Manuel & Quinto LLP. With a staff having over 120 years of experience in law, Kupferstein Manuel & Quinto LLP specializes in intellectual property, entertainment and media, employment, class action defense, and general commercial litigation, and also offers employment law counseling and training.

David and partner Phyllis Kupferstein were two of the four founders of litigation powerhouse Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP and all members of their firm cut their teeth at Quinn Emanuel. David heads the firm’s intellectual property and entertainment litigation practice areas. For nearly 30 years, he was principally responsible for protecting the worldwide rights of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in its copyrighted Oscar statuette and annual awards telecasts, as well as its Oscar and Academy Awards marks.

 

A member of the Los Angeles County Copyright Association and the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Association, David has also been chosen as a member of the Law Dragon 500 and featured on the front page of California Law Business. In addition to serving as a long-time World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) domain name dispute resolution panelist, David was recognized as a 2013 Top Rated Lawyer in Intellectual Property nationally by American Lawyer Media and holds an AV Preeminent® rating with Martindale-Hubbell™. He has also authored or co-authored three cutting-edge legal resource books during his career. His most recent , a practitioner’s guide to the ins and outs of prosecuting, defending, and avoiding trade secrets disputes nationally and titled Trade Secrets: Law and Practice, is in its third edition and is published by LexisNexis. David received his JD Degree from Harvard Law School, holds a B.A. Degree from Amherst College, and attended the University of Hong Kong School of Law as a Rotary Graduate Fellow.
