Susan S. Hawkins

Susan S. Hawkins is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Healthcare as a result of her role as Sr. VP, Quality & Patient Safety and Chief Quality Officer at the Detroit Medical Center. As one of the largest healthcare providers in Southeast Michigan and as the number one academically integrated system in Detroit, the Detroit Medical Center is dedicated to providing residents with top tier medical services in a multitude of clinical specialties. A seasoned healthcare professional with over three decades of experience in the industry, Susan has strengths in strategic planning, care reliability, quality and patient safety, leadership development, relationship building, and much more.

 

Recognized by the National Association of Professional Women as a VIP Woman of The Year, Susan is also a board member of the Engineering Society of Detroit and Inforum, a Michigan-based membership and leadership development organization. In 2011, she was honored with the Michigan Health and Hospital Association’s Quality & Patient Safety Leadership Award. In addition to her medical career, Susan is heavily involved with her community and local affairs, including having served in multiple leadership roles at North Congregational Church, where she also sings in choir and plays the hand bells. In addition, she enjoys traveling, golf, and fine dining. Susan obtained her Master of Business Administration degree from Wayne State University and her Bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan.
