Leora K. Knight is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Public Safety. She is the Chief of the Tax Distribution Section at the Ohio Department of Public Safety. Comprised of several divisions such as the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, the Emergency Management Agency, Emergency Medical Services, Homeland Security, the State Highway Patrol and the Office of Criminal Justice Services, the Ohio Department of Public Safety ensures the safety and wellbeing of Ohioans across the state. Leora has been working with the Ohio Department of Public Safety for 17 years, eventually working  her way up to her current position as Chief of the Tax Distribution Section. In this capacity, she works in the areas of accounting, budgets, collections, leadership, management, training and more. Leora is responsible for the distribution of Ohio motor vehicle license and permissive tax, motor vehicle license tax collected under the International Registration Plan, as well as the distribution of money for special plates. Throughout the year, over a half billion dollars are distributed to the state’s counties, municipalities and townships, other states, provinces, colleges, universities and nonprofit entities. The recipient of the Excellence and Service Award from the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Leora is a member of the National Association of Professional Women. Looking into the future, Leora plans on continuing to maintain high standards for her section in the agency as a public servant for the state of Ohio.
