Ella E. Faulkner

Ella E. Faulkner is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Government Services. She serves as City Planner and Capital Construction Manager with the D.C. Department of Parks & Recreation. Specializing in parks administration and urban recreation services, the D.C. Department of Parks & Recreation provides countless recreation and leisure services to both residents and visitors to the District of Columbia through various programs, activities and events. In this position for five years, Ella works in the areas of architecture, community engagement, urban design, planning and project management - specific to the Parks and Recreation field. She currently manages a team of Architects and Urban Planners, which focuses on capital construction projects for the agency. The team also oversees management and oversight of an annul Capital Budget, which currently is over $46,000,000. In recognition of her dedication to her professional success, Ella was inducted into the NAPW VIP Woman of The Year Circle.

She also furthers her professional development through her affiliations with the American Planning Association, AAG and NRPA. She gives back to her community through numerous locally based charities, and is also an accomplished watercolor artist. Heavily educated in her area of expertise, Ella earned a Master’s degree in Regional and City Planning from the College of Architecture as well as a second Master’s degree in Geography from the University of Oklahoma. She began her educational career with a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from Virginia Commonwealth University. In the years to come, Ella would like to become a Deputy Director for Planning and Capital Construction or Chief Operating Officer for the Agency and in 5-10 years become one of, if not the only female minority Developers in the District focusing on environmental urbanism projects.
