Tammie J. Klawitter

 Tammie J. Klawitter, RN, is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a 2016-2017 Nurse of The Year in the field of Healthcare.

Tammie is a Registered Nurse at Comfort Care Cottage. Offering nursing, independent and assisted living, and more, Comfort Care Cottage is dedicated to providing their residents with the utmost care and respect they deserve. With a 24-hour staff on call for any and all emergencies, families will feel better knowing their loved ones are being taken care of. In the industry since 1982, Tammie has been in her current role for three years. Specializing in all facets of nursing and geriatric care, she holds certifications in CPR and as a Parish Nurse in addition to her RN licensure. In this capacity, Tammie is responsible for the observation, assessment and caring for clients, staff education and physician relations as well as medication set-ups and the implementation of electronic charting and new medication count systems. One of Tammie’s biggest career accomplishments to date was while she was working at a long-term care facility.

She developed a new psychotropic program which has now been shared and used by other faciliti A member of the International Nurses Association, Tammie can be found camping, reading, working in her flowerbeds and spending time with her family outside of work. Charitably, she maintains affiliation with the Salvation Army, the American Red Cross, the Radiothon to End Child Abuse and the Empty Stocking Campaign. Tammie is also an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wadena.

 

 Throughout the course of her education and training, Tammie completed her schooling at St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Duluth, Minnesota. In the future, Tammie would like to see Comfort Care Cottage expand and grow, continuing its mission to “Love My People.” She will also continue to utilize the example of her mother’s nursing career and her own education to be a positive influence at work and in the community, and to continue to treat her Comfort Care family with love, dignity and respect — with a little bit of humor thrown in for good measure!
