Linda McCandless

Linda McCandless is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the Finance field. McCandless’ professional title is Controller/VP Finance at Delaware Building Corporation, which specializes in Computer Software. She brings 11 years of career experience to her role.

As part of her job duties, McCandless’ was responsible for the “initial setup and conversion of manual accounting system to QuickBooks Pro Contractor Edition.” Additionally, she “creates project budgets received from estimating; manages operating and cash investments; manages accounts payable, AIA billing, accounts receivable and payroll; generates contracts; changes orders and permit applications; and maintains subcontractor insurance.” Lastly, she “designed and developed several Excel spreadsheets for management review, which facilitated decisions to cut costs, maximize profit and improved analytical review of company performance.”

McCandless earned a degree in Accounting and Finance from Temple University. To further her professional development, she is a member of the National Association of Professional Women the National Notary Association, Beta Alpha Psi, the Jewish Federation of Philadelphia and the Jewish Federation of Philadelphia Hadassah. She also speaks Yiddish, Hebrew and French in addition to English. Prior to joining the team at Delaware Building Corporation, McCandless served as the Comptroller at the Computer Information Network from 2002-2006.

 

She “produced all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections, billing, payables and payroll for internet wire service,” and also “developed customized reports for management to meet specific financial needs and tools requested by CEO.” Additionally, McCandless worked in the role of Comptroller at Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc., from 1988-2002, and as the Staff Accountant at Laventhol & Horwath, from 1989-1991. When not working, McCandless devotes her time to numerous local charities. She dedicates this recognition to the loving memories of her dad, Paul Gorman; and her husband, Lewis Eddie McCandless. She also dedicates this recognition to her mentors, Paul Charlop and Dr. William Carter.
