Edward M. Smolar, M.D., FAP, FACE, is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the Medical field. “At Preste Medical, our providers specialize in: Cardiac Imaging, Cardiac Myocardial Perfusion Imaging, Chest CT, Peripheral Artery Catheterization and Vascular Surgical Procedures,” the practice’s Healthgrades review states. Dr. Smolar serves as an Endocrinologist at Preste Voss Medical. He brings over 20 years of field experience, as well as expertise in Diabetes, Endocrinology, Internal Medicine and Metabolism, to his role.
Dr. Smolar earned his Medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. He later completed a Master of Business Administration degree and a Master’s degree in Health Administration from Nova Southeastern University. Additionally, he completed his Internship with the U.S. Public Health Services Hospital, his Residency at the New York Medical College and a Fellowship in Endocrinology at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine.
Dr. Smolar is also Board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. “I chose to enter the field of endocrinology because it is a proactive branch of medicine, requiring extensive knowledge,” Dr. Smolar said. To further his professional development, Dr. Smolar is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians as well as the American College of Endocrinology. He is also affiliated and holds practicing privileges at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale. “I pride my success on enthusiasm, continual learning, dedication and hard work,” Dr. Smolar said. “My advice to young physicians is that you have to like the field.”
Outside of his work in practice, Dr. Smolar has published several articles and contributed to a number of renowned medical journals, including PubMed. In recognition of his outstanding work in the field, Dr. Smolar has been recognized by Top Physicians of America. When not working, he enjoys ballroom dancing, history and financial planning.
