Dr. Dragana Pilavdzic is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a 2017 Pinnacle Professional Member of the Year in the field of Pathology. Dr. Pilavdzic is currently a Pathologist at Lakeridge Health, located in Oshawa, Ontario, and has over 26 years of career experience. Lakeridge is one of the leading community hospitals in the Durham Region of Ontario, Canada. Their services cater to a variety of people and medical issues, including Cancer Care, Children and Youth services, an Emergency Medical department, Mental Health services, senior care, a newly renovated Women and Children’s program, and more.

Pathologists are specialists who can work in conjunction with a person’s primary care doctor in order to diagnose and treat certain medical conditions by performing tissue biopsies, genetic testing, and other laboratory testing. Additionally, Pathologists can perform autopsies, which help to determine a person’s cause of death.
However, Dr. Pilavdzic’s main professional focus is Breast Pathology. After graduating with her Medical degree from the University of Zagreb, located in the capital of Croatia, in 1990, Dr. Pilavdzic went on to complete a residency in Anatomical Pathology in Ontario, at the University of Toronto. She has been recognized by the organizations such as the International Association of Healthcare Professionals, and Leading Physicians of the World, for her outstanding work. In order to further her professional development, Dr. Piladvzic has been appointed a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists, and has served as Chair of the Canadian Association of Pathologist’s Anatomical Pathology section.
Due to her work, she has received the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Canadian Association of Pathologists. When she is not working, Dr. Pilavdzic enjoys activities like dancing, reading, listening to music, and playing games such as Basketball, Volleyball, and Handball.
