John A. Carrino, MD, MPH

John A. Carrino, M.D., M.P.H., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the Medical field. Dr. Carrino serves as a Radiologist at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He brings over 20 years of field experience, as well as expertise in all aspects of radiology, to his role. “At Hospital for Special Surgery, every doctor, surgeon, nurse and therapist is focused on caring for patients with musculoskeletal conditions,” the hospital’s website states. “Collectively, we treat the most complex cases imaginable.

Our doctors have one goal: to deliver an unmatched level of personalized care to patients.” Dr. Carrino entered the medical field with the goal of helping others. “The key to my success is my open mind, and capitalizing on opportunities,” Dr. Carrino said. “Radiology is technologydriven and there is a paradigm.” In addition to his work in practice, Dr. Carrino has co-authored over 200 publications on radiology and imaging.

He has also worked as a contributing writer and associate editor to various professional and scientific journals, in regards to arthritis and rheumatism. Dr. Carrino earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology, as well as his Medical degree, from the George Washington University. He then went on to complete a Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard School of Public Health.

 

He is also Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology. To further his professional development, Dr. Carrino is a member of the Advanced Committee of the Food and Drug Administration Radiology Devices Panel; the Russel H. Morgan Department of Radiology and Radiology Sciences; the PACS Administrators Registry and Certification Association; and the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine. When not working, Dr. Carrino enjoys staying in shape and traveling to Naples, Italy. He dedicates this recognition in loving memory of his father, Alphonse ElvioCarrino.
