Kaushik N. Sarma, M.D., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of Medicine. Dr. Sarma currently serves as the Director of Clinical Trial Management at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Inc., which specializes in drug development. He specializes in the areas of clinical development, trials and research, along with over 15 years of experience in the clinical research industry, to his role.
Sunovion Pharmaceuticals is a pharmaceutical company that specializes in promoting the health and wellness of their patients. Sunovion emphasizes that, their goal is to “begin with our innovative application of science and medicine, which has helped pursue a unique strategy to research and development, chart new paths to life-transforming treatments and deliver a track record of discovery, development and commercialization of important therapies.” Throughout the course of his education and training, Dr. Sarma earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a minor in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis in 1996. He then went on to earn his Medical degree from Spartan Health Sciences University in 2001.
Prior to joining the team at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Sarma worked as a Clinical Research Specialist at Merck within the Immunology and Analgesia Department. His work predominantly included clinical trials with COX-2 inhibitors. He then moved to Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma America within the clinical operations department as an Associate Manager and Manager of Clinical Operations. His primary focus was management of global clinical trials with central nervous system compounds.
Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma became Sunovion Pharmaceuticals where he continued as the Senior Manager of Clinical Operations responsible for the successful execution of clinical trials within the CNS spectrum. He progressed to an Associate Director of Clinical Trials and currently assumes the role of Director of Clinical Trial Management. His primary responsibility includes leading development programs within CNS from an operational perspective. He has authored numerous abstracts, posters and papers at well-known conferences and scientific journals. He is happily married with 2 children.
