Tamela Parkinson, LPN, is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the field of Practical Nursing. In an effort to provide a simple, focused and connective approach, Aetna offers its clients the products and services they need to meet their demands.

Parkinson was inspired to enter the field of nursing after taking care of a family member, and watching the television show The Waltons. “The key to my success is ‘heart’,” Parkinson said. “Everyone loves my personality.

The nursing staff calls me the ‘Drill Sargent.’ Previously, Parkinson worked with handicapped veterans and children to help with activities necessary for daily living. She earned her LPN designation from Giles Vocational School, and is currently attending Columbia Southern University where she is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management.

To further her professional development, Parkinson is a member of both LifeNet and the North Carolina Organ Donation Society. She earned the Excellence in Nursing Award from the Salem VA Medical Center in Virginia, in recognition of her outstanding work in the field. Parkinson dedicates this recognition in loving memory of her son, Michael Suroski; as well as to her daughter and husband, Sara Suroski & Michael Parkinson, for there continued love and support.
