Continental Who’s Who recognizes Kristin Molloy as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the fields of Media and Media Production. Molloy is the Operations Manager at the Athena Film Festival, “a joint project of the Athena Center and Women and Hollywood,” as per her LinkedIn. The film festival is held once a year at Barnard College, takes submissions from all over the world, and is described as, “a weekend of inspiring films that tell the extraordinary stories of strong, bold women leaders from all walks of life – stories of ambition, courage, resilience, and moxie.”
The festival focuses on telling powerful stories about women, by women, and for women, and screens everything from, “Academy Award-nominated films, top-tier features, documentaries, and shorts — including U.S. and world premieres.” Prior to her role at the Athena Film Festival Molloy held production and management roles at numerous other film festivals and media groups, such as Rooftop Films, the Slamdance Film Festival, and Northside Media Group. Having been in her current capacity for over eight years, Molloy considers her areas of professional expertise to be; oversight of daily operations, fundraising, and organizational management. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Culture and Media Studies from Eugene Lang College’s New School for Liberal Arts.
To further her professional development, Molloy is a member of the Independent Filmmaker Project, an organization dedicated to helping new and independent film makers navigate the industry and assist them in their development. She is also a member of the National Association of Professional Women, and supports Planned Parenthood. Outside of work, Molloy enjoys traveling, reading books, and painting.
