Catherine Greenberg is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Nonprofit Volunteer Work. Founder and Executive Director of the nonprofit organization, Bright Light Volunteers, the organization is one that coordinates international service programs directed by both students and teachers, which aim to create cross-cultural experiences and provide help for communities in need. Volunteers with Bright Light are able to choose and plan their own programs to communities in parts of Central America, the Caribbean, Asia, Africa, and Europe. Amassing over 10 years of experience in the areas of volunteering and leadership, Greenberg’s professional specialties include; cross cultural cooperative projects, leadership, fundraising, volunteer and program management, marketing, and community outreach.
Having previously held positions with Globe Aware and The Science Place, Greenberg has attained knowledge within the areas of international and educational services. Greenberg’s passion for volunteering has been recognized by many over the course of her career, and she has received numerous honors and awards for excellence in her field. Some of these include; a Certificate of Appreciation from Jericho Road Dallas, a Volunteer Appreciation Award from the Dallas Environmental Society, and both an Honor of Excellence and an inclusion in the VIP Woman of the Year Circle with the National Association of Professional Women.
Throughout the course of her education, Greenberg attained her Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies from Richland Community College in 2002. Later, she received her Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Anthropology with focus on Latin America from Southern Methodist University, in 2005. Her professional goal is to help students experience other cultures and try to enable them to make a difference all over the world. Personally, she endorses the Muhammad Ali quote, “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.” When she is not working, Greenberg enjoys organic gardening, urban chicken ranching, cooking, photography, and volunteering of course!
