Barry Sankey

Barry Sankey is recognized by Continental Who’s Who for his exceptional work in the field of Journalism. Barry is a Sports Reporter with Phoenixville Newspapers.  Throughout the course of his 32 year career, Barry has developed his sports writing expertise at journalism outfits including The Mercury, Spring Ford Reporter, and Philadelphia Bulletin. Currently, he contributes his journalism skills and writing talents to Phoenixville Newspapers, a weekly publication distributed within Chester and Montgomery counties.

As a Sports Reporter, Barry is responsible for local coverage including scholastic sports, as well as collegiate and professional sports where local residents are involved. Barry enjoys showcasing up and coming student athletes and profiling them as some of them reach the professional level.

ln addition, Barry is very active in the community. He has been active in local Politics as well as with Spring City American Legion Baseball. Furthermore, Barry has served on the House, Finance, and Ways and Means Committees of Congregation Mercy and Truth Synagogue Pottstown. He is also the Past President of B’Nai B'Rith Men’s Group.

In his spare time, Barry enjoys Sports, Reading, Watching TV and Movies, as well as listening to Music. Barry earned his B.A. Cum Laude in Journalism and Political Science from Temple University. As a student, he was the Sports Editor and Managing Editor of the University paper, The Temple News.
