Elizabeth C. Abel, MSW

Elizabeth C. Abel, M.S.W., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Non-Profit Human Services as a result of her role as Project Director at the Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program with the City of Mount Vernon Youth Bureau. The City of Mount Vernon Youth Bureau is the lead municipal agency that provides positive youth development services to youth ages 6-21.

The Mount Vernon Youth Bureau supports generations of youth and families by developing and implementing safe, high quality programs that promote the physical, emotional and social well-being of the city’s young people. Having spent twelve years in the US Air Force, and past positions in Law Enforcement and Human Resources, Elizabeth enjoys working with people and helping them solve problems.

In her current position as Project Director for the Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program, she helps teenagers with issues regarding sexuality, life coaching, community based programming and adolescent development programs. Furthermore, Elizabeth is a member of NASW, NAPW, and OPN. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering, watching movies, and traveling. Elizabeth earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University in the City of New York, and a BA in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University.
