Michael B. Russo, MD, is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional of the Year in the field of Neurology in recognition of his role as a Neurologist at Hawaii Pacific DEEG.

A private practice servicing the Hilo, Hawaii area, Hawaii Pacific DEEG is a DEEG testing and Brain Health facility. Dedicated to offering their clients the quality medical services that they deserve, the practice utilizes the latest advancements in medical technology.

Amassing a 34 year career in the United States Army, Dr. Russo has accrued over twenty five years of experience working with computerized EEG, sleep physiology, brain assessment and treatment. Throughout his career, Dr. Russo has attained extensive experience in the areas of neurology and sleep disorders.

Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Neurology and in Sleep Medicine, throughout his educational career, Dr. Russo graduated with his Medical Degree from the Rosalind Franklin University Chicago Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. Thereafter, Dr. Russo completed his Psychiatry internship at New York Medical College and completed a Neurology residency with New York University. Additionally, Dr. Russo completed his Fellowship in Sleep Neurophysiology at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Spring, Maryland.

To further his professional development, Dr. Russo is an affiliate of several organizations including the Honolulu Neuroscience Clinic where he is Founder, Sleep Disorders Patients Advocacy Foundation, and the Hawaii Sleep and Wellness Foundation. Co-Director of the Stanford University Sleep Epidemiology Satellite Research Center, Dr. Russo currently serves as President of the Hawaii Neurological Society.

In recognition of his professional accolades, Dr. Russo is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Award for Excellence in Military Medicine; Fellow of the American College of Physicians; Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology; Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine; and Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association.

When he is not working, Dr. Russo enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children.

Married with three children, Dr. Russo dedicates this recognition to Dr. Turan Itil.
