Kerry Ann Hudson, M.D., FACOG, OB-GYN, is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional Member in the Medical field. Dr. Hudson serves as the Head of Operational Forces/Medical Liaison Services at the Naval Medical Center of Portsmouth. She brings decades of experience and expertise in obstetrics and gynecology to her role. As a Navy Lieutenant, Dr. Hudson worked in a clinic serving over 2,000 military personnel and civilians in Kabul, Afghanistan, as a General Medical Officer. She also worked at the Women’s Hospital in Kabul, using her obstetric and gynecological training to tend to citizens who may not receive quality healthcare. Her additional skills and areas of expertise include the following: medical education, leadership, hospitals, operational planning, EMR, disaster response, public health, critical care, DoD, emergency management, epidemiology, clinical research and readiness. Dr. Hudson earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Weapons and Engineering Systems from the United States Naval Academy in 1999. She then went on to complete her Medical degree from the University of the Health Sciences F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine. Upon graduation, she was immediately promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Following completion of her medical degree, Dr. Hudson completed a first internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in 2004, and a year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, also Naval Medical Center Portsmouth Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, in 2007. Additionally, Dr. Hudson is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition to her practice of medicine, Dr. Hudson serves as an Assistant Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at her alma mater, the University of Health Sciences F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine. In recognition of her outstanding accomplishments in the classroom, she has earned several awards, including: 2nd Year Resident Teacher of The Year Award, ACOG, 2005; APGO Teaching in Excellence Award, WRNMMC, Bethesda, 2011; and is an APGO Scholars and Leaders Program Graduate, 2013. As a result of her outstanding practice of medicine, she went on to earn the Associate Master Clinician Award, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, 2015; has been named to Leading Physicians of the World; and was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal and the Navy Commendation Medal by the United States Navy. Dr. Hudson has also been granted practicing privileges at a number of other hospitals, including: National Naval Medical Center (Bethesda, Maryland); Kimbrough Army Medical Center (Fort Meade, Maryland); and Walter Reed Army Medical Center (Washington, D.C.).
