Cynthia Jeanne Mothersole, Ph.D. is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional Member in the field of Psychology in recognition of her role as a Clinical Psychologist. Located in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Mothersole practices at ManagedMed, a psychological corporation that has served the local communities of Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Mid-Wilshire for over thirty-five years. Having obtained her license from the California Board of Psychology in 2004, Dr. Mothersole acts as Treating Physician, Qualified Medical Evaluator and Agreed Medical Evaluator under the auspices of the California Department of Industrial Medicine. She also serves as expert witness for civil trials and workers compensation arbitrations. She has served as Training and Supervising Psychologist at ManagedMed since 2010 and specializes in psychoanalytic psychotherapy to treat depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, personality disorder and relational dysfunction. Dr. Mothersole attended Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where she obtained the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy in 1973. She thereafter attended Columbia University in New York City where she completed the Master of Arts Degree in Philosophy in 1976. Pursuing advanced professional education, Dr. Mothersole obtained the Master of Arts Degree in Psychology in 1993 and the PhD in Psychology in 1998 from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles. Dr. Mothersole is currently a member of the American Psychological Association, the International Association of Relational Psychoanalysts and Psychotherapists and the California Department of Industrial Medicine. Philanthropically, she supports the Vassar College Alumnae Fund and the Columbia University Alumnae Fund and is a patron of the Saint Matthews Episcopal Music Guild in Pacific Palisades, California. Dr. Mothersole has dedicated her professional career to providing quality treatment for patients and attributes her success to an abiding passion for psychoanalytic theory and practice. When asked her advice to newcomers in the industry, Dr. Mothersole notes the importance of curiosity about the human condition and “persisting passionately both with patients and developments in the field.” She cites Heinz Kohut, Donald Winnicott and Wilfred Bion as significant contributors to her psychoanalytic body of thought and practice.
