Richard F. Caruso, MD is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Doctor as a Gastroenterologist at Seaside Endoscopy. Patient centered, Seaside Endoscopy Pavilion is an outpatient endoscopy facility specializing in colon cancer screening and gastroenterology.
With over 20 years of experience in medicine, Dr. Caruso holds the esteemed position as the medical director of Seaside Endoscopy Pavilion. As to newcomers to the field, Dr. Caruso advises, “Have a passion for what you do. It’s kind of like being a detective and a diagnostician.” Intrigued by liver disease specifically, Dr. Caruso specializes in Internal Medicine as well as the aforementioned Gastroenterology . As to why he chose his specialty, Dr. Caruso states, “Gastroenterology is a field of medicine that has always interested me.”
Throughout his education and training, Dr. Caruso attended Villanova University where he received a Cum Laude Bachelor of Science degree in science in 1979. Additionally, Dr. Caruso attended Villanova School of Law and graduated in 1982 with a Juris Doctorate law degree. Finally, Dr. Caruso earned his medical degree from the Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Lankenau Hospital. Dr. Caruso is a Board certified Gastroenterologist.
