Erik P. Shultz, MD, MS, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Medicine as an OB/GYN at Texas Medical Center.
As a leader in collaborative medicine and research, Texas Medical Center has been making a profound impact on patient care for the last ninety-one years. The hospital is always growing, recently partnering with Denmark to collaborate with researchers, entrepreneurs, and innovators across the globe. Dr. Shultz specifically works at Texas Children’s Hospital. He has leveraged himself as an acclaimed physician, specializing in women’s reproductive tract, pregnancy, childbirth, high-risk cases, minimally invasive surgery, and alternatives to hysterectomies.
To prepare for a career in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Shultz earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Baylor University. He then attended the University of Arkansas where he was honored for his research on ovarian cancer, receiving a master’s degree in pathology. Remaining in Arkansas for medical studies, he earned a Doctorate of Medicine (MD). For post-education training, he completed a residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.
A frontrunner in his field, Dr. Shultz maintains affiliations with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG), Myositis Association (TMA), Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association (HCMA), HOG, and ASGC. He is an active member of his community, having involvement with the Global Leadership Summit, local churches, and schools.
When not at work, Dr. Shultz enjoys traveling, being outside, and attending sporting events.
Recognizing those who have helped him succeed, Dr. Shultz thanks his mentors Dr. Steven Bloom, MD, and Dr. Mary Wren, MD. He dedicates this recognition to his wife Anu Shultz, MD, his four children, and mother Sharon Shultz.
