Dr. Celia Banting, PhD, MSW, RN, Author, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as the Woman of the Year for the qualifications and successes she has accrued as a Psychologist, Registered Nurse, and Author at Wighita Press.

Dr. Banting published the I Only Said series, which contains ten books that address numerous mental health and suicidal behaviors for ages twelve and older.
Born in the United Kingdom, Dr. Banting lived in the second-most populous island in England, Isle of Wight, since she was threeyears-old. After she finished nursing school in 1989, she and her five children moved to the United States so she could pursue her life dream: to make a profound impact on children’s lives. An acclaimed author, she specializes in transaction analysis, communication, therapeutic novels, social work, nursing, and teenage suicide prevention.
An academic scholar, Dr. Banting has received multiple degrees. She attended Royal Isle of Wight School of Nursing for Registered General Nursing Training, Wealdon College East Sussex for Integrative Psychology, Psychology - Portsmouth University for a BSc with honors, Isle of Wight College for a Further Adult Education Teaching Certificate, Portsmouth University for a MSW and Post Graduate Diploma Social Research Methods, Metanoia Institute for MSc in Psychotherapy, the University of Greenwich in Counseling Psychology, and the University of Portsmouth for a PhD. She is renowned for her doctoral thesis, “Suicide in Young Offenders in Prison: A Cross Cultural Comparison.”
To remain on top of innovation in her field, Dr. Banting is a member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). For her excellence in multiple fields, CWW recognized Dr. Banting as a Pinnacle Professional in 2014. In 2019, the National Association of Professional Women inducted her into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle.
Devoted to helping adolescents, Dr. Banting will continue trying to reach adolescents who slip through the cracks and those who refuse or do not have access to mental health services.
