James E. Lawrence, SUDP

James E. Lawrence, SUDP, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Addiction Recovery as the Owner and a Substance Use Disorder Professional at 2nd Chance Recovery Center.

Located at 235 SW 153rd Street in the suburban city of Burien, 2nd Chance Recovery Center is a certified facility that provides alcohol and drug evaluations, CPS/DP/DV assessments, WPHS/DOH Assessments, Deferred Prosecutions, Anger Management Classes, Relapse Prevention Programs, Intensive Outpatient Care, Domestic Violence Therapy, and Moral Reconation Therapy. As one of the leading facilities in King County, 2nd Chance Recovery Center offers a relaxed atmosphere, where all discussions remain confidential.

Mr. Lawrence has years of experience working as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUDP) in the state of Washington, specializing in domestic violence, anger management, and administrative operations. He enjoys the connection between himself and clients, feeling a sense of gratification when recovery programs help benefit families and influence positive changes in clients. Before he entered the field of recovery, he held varied roles, such as painter, carpet layer, cook, and truck driver.

In 2008, he was laid off, having then decided to become a SUDP because he had several Narcotics Anonymous (NA) sponsees, who he worked with and was helping stay clean. With this certification, he became a Drug and Alcohol Counselor.

In recognition of academic achievements, Mr. Lawrence earned an associate’s degree at Highland Community College in 2010. He has since completed additional training for all applicable licensure, such as SUDP, DOH, DVMRT, and domestic violence training.

Mr. Lawrence maintains affiliations with the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Clean and Sober Motorcycle Club, and NA.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Lawrence enjoys riding motorcycles and quads, attending Seattle Seahawks games, and spending time with his children. He has five biological children and will have four step-children soon.

Mr. Lawrence dedicates this recognition in loving memory of his mentor Peter Sereltti, who passed away 11/24/2015, and to Stacey Erenger, Debbi McDermott, and Emily Freeman.
