Hany Y. Atallah, MD, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of medicine as the Chief and Medical Director of Emergency Medicine at Grady Memorial HospitalAtlanta and with Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Hany Y. Atallah has 17 years’ experience in the field of emergency medicine working with patients at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and at Emory University School of Medicine where he has been working since 2003. Board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Atallah is committed to ensuring that patients who come to the emergency department are treated with quality patient care.
Before becoming an emergency physician and managing a fast-paced emergency department, Dr. Atallah completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Washington University in St. Louis and his medical degree at New York Medical College. He completed his emergency medicine residency at the Jacobi/Montefiore Emergency Medicine Residency Program of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Atallah is also a member of several professional organizations including the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, Georgia College of Emergency Physicians, American College of Emergency Physicians, Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and the American Association for Physician Leadership.
Dr. Atallah remains up to date with his research interests including ED operational research, patient flow, and core measures.
Dr. Atallah is the recipient of Georgia College of Emergency Physicians Medical Director of the Year in 2014, Physician of the Year from Georgia Association of Physician Assistant in 2013, and received the Pillar of Excellence Award from Grady Hospital in 2019. In addition to his accomplishments and his research publications, he’s also won several teaching awards for residents and medical students and was a finalist for the prestigious Franz Edelman Award for Excellence in Operations Research.
Outside of his daily responsibilities, Dr. Atallah donates his time and knowledge as a former board member to Girls on the Run Atlanta and as a current board member to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation.
With love and responsibility, Dr. Atallah enjoys taking care of patients regardless of their ability to pay, as well as working with like-minded people who are committed to what they do. He understands that patients come to see you on their worst day and how you care for them is something they will always remember.
In his free time, Dr. Hany Atallah enjoys watching movies, running, and woodworking.
