Premier Gastroenterology of Hamilton is a family-based gastroenterology practice, located at 2271 Route 33, Suite 110. Dr. Shivaprasad has devoted the past five years with her expert team, caring for patients towards achieving advanced digestive health. Services include the diagnosis and treatment for common gastrointestinal problems such as abdominal pain, colon polyp, and colon cancer screening, gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcer, GI bleed, IBS, Women’s digestive health, gas and bloating, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, hepatitis, cirrhosis, and more.

Board Certified Gastroenterologist, Dr. Shivaprasad utilizes her advanced training in gastrointestinal care, upper endoscopy, and colonoscopy, and the treatment of biliary tract disease to provide a high tech high touch approach to patient care. She is passionate about benefiting the local community with early detection of cancers such as pancreatic cancer, bile duct cancers, stomach, and esophageal cancers. Her expertise in advanced endoscopic procedures such as ERCP and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)

Dr. Shivaprasad graduated from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine with Honors, where she earned her Doctor of Osteopathy degree. She went on to complete her Residency at Cooper University Hospital, and later finished her three-year Gastroenterology Fellowship at the same institution. Furthering her studies, she completed an additional year of Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Fellowship at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington D.C. She also received expert training in the treatment of biliary tract disease including bile duct stones and bile duct cancers.

In recognition of her successes and professionalism, Dr. Shivaprasad was named the first Director of Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy at RWJ Barnabas at Hamilton, where she pioneered their first Endoscopic Ultrasound Program. She is well respected as an expert voice in her field and has been invited to give many talks including the state level conference for the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses Association.

A frontrunner in her field, Dr. Shivaprasad has maintained active professional memberships including the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Shivaprasad dedicates this recognition to her husband and practice partner, Dr. Shivaprasad Marulendra. She also dedicates this to Dr. Nadin Haddad and Dr. Elsant.
