An acclaimed physician, Dr. Cornwell is board certified in Family Medicine through the National Board of Physicians & Surgeons. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1972 and later went on to complete his residency in Family Medicine at The Medical Center of Columbus in Georgia.

To further his professional development, Dr. Cornwell is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Additionally, he holds an active membership status with several professional organizations including the American Medical Association, the American Society of Addiction Medicine, and the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association and the Medical Association of Georgia.
