Terrance L. Board-certified Physician, Dr. Baker has led an outstanding career in full-time clinical practice for 35 years, garnering a well-deserving reputation as an expert in the fields of Family Medicine, Geriatrics, Emergency Medicine and Forensic Medicine. As the Owner and Founder of Sollay Medical Center, he is dedicated to providing the highest level of professionalism and integrity while offering his vast repertoire of expertise in family and geriatric medicine. As a highly experienced practitioner, Dr. Baker also serves as a clinical preceptor at the University of Maryland School of Nursing where he provides supervision during clinical practice. He has extensive experience in studying medical practice issues include the use of photobiomodulation as a curative treatment of medical conditions.

An academic scholar, Dr. Baker received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Soon thereafter, he completed his doctor of medicine (MD) degree at the George Washington School of Medicine. He went on to complete his internship and residency program in family medicine and furthered studies in women’s health at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Baker is board certified in family medicine, emergency medicine, geriatric medicine, and forensic medicine. He is also a Certified Medical Director by the American Medical Directors Association (AMDA). Remaining at the forefront of his field, Dr. Baker is intentional in staying up-to-date with the latest industry developments and innovations. He is an active member of the American Academy of Emergency Physicians, American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Geriatrics, American Medical Directors Association, American Board of Physician Specialties, AMA, and American College of Emergency Physicians. He currently serves as the immediate past president of the Board of Directors for national organizations including the American Association of Physician Specialists (AAPS). He is also the president of the North American Association for Photobiomodulation (NAALT). Dr. Baker is a well-respected voice in his field and has served as a peer reviewer and forensic medical expert throughout the United States. He has also written extensively and speaks around the world about the clinical applications of medical lasers.

As a philanthropist, Dr. Baker Co-Founded the Sollay Kenyan Foundation whose unwavering goal is to provide basic medical care to all 95 nations of the African continent. Together with Co-Founder Modesta Vesonder, CRNP, seven (7) treatment facilities are underway including the 144-bed hospital in Katani Kenya completed and opened in November 2018. Recently, a state of the art GE CT unit was delivered to the Katani Hospital and becomes the first CT unit in that part of Kenya ever. Similar facilities are underway through the nations of Africa and will continue to provide the minimum necessary care required to restore life and to cancel appointments with death. Dr. Baker has committed his entire life whether it be in the wilds of Africa or the streets of Baltimore or the rural counties of South Carolina, Dr. Baker has committed his entire life to preserving life and to canceling appointments with death.
