Shirley A. Schrank is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Professional for her devotion in the field of Nursing and remarkable creative contributions in the field of Visual Arts.
An artist and sculptor since 1967, Ms. Schrank is a retired nurse from the Samuel Merritt Hospital School of Nursing and is renowned for her outstanding work in sculpting. She has garnered over 65 years of vast knowledge and professional experience in her respected fields. Among her professional nursing experiences, Ms. Schrank continuously thrived in her previous roles providing the highest standard of healthcare. She served as a nurse at Presbyterian Medical Center Etal SF Hospital in 1962, a staff nurse of eye surgery at the Children’s Hospital of San Francisco in 1961, and an instructor of pediatric nursing with Genesee Hospital. Earlier in her career, Ms. Schrank was a team leader of medicine at the University of Rochester from 1956 to 1960, after having served as a staff nurse of psychiatry since 1954.
An academic scholar, Ms. Schrank flourished as she prepared for her nursing career. She graduated from the University of Rochester, where she obtained her nursing degree in 1954 and later her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1960. Continuing her studies, she went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing Education in 1961.
Throughout her acclaimed nursing career, Ms. Schrank continued to remain abreast of the latest developments in her field. Alongside her active memberships with professional nursing organizations, she has maintained active memberships with art organizations including the California Watercolor Association, the La Junta Artists Association, and the San Francisco Women Artists. She has also been active with East Bay Women Artists and the Blackhawk Gallery.
Currently retired, Ms. Schrank has devoted her free time to spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoys traveling.
