Elizabeth Thuy Nguyen, MD, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Lifetime Achiever in the field of Medicine and is recognized for her dedication and commitment to providing quality patient-centered care as a Nephrologist at North Atlanta Kidney Specialist, P.C. & Medical Director at Da Vita.

Founded in 1981 by Stuart Handelsman, MD, North Atlanta Kidney Specialists, P.C. is a medical practice devoted to nephrology, or the study of diseases of the kidneys. The practice is conveniently located near Northside Hospital and Saint Joseph’s Hospital Atlanta in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Collectively, board-certified physicians Dr. Handelsman and Dr. Nguyen, as well as the dedicated staff care for and educate patients in the Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic, at Home Dialysis of North Atlanta, and in several Metro Atlanta hemodialysis units.

As a well-seasoned and highly trained nephrologist, Dr. Nguyen has garnered 17 years of professional excellence in her field. She has devoted the past 15 years identifying the underlying cause of her patients’ kidney problem and establishing treatment plans with Dr. Handelsman at North Atlanta Kidney Specialist, P.C. She continues to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and integrity in her additional role as Medical Director at Da Vita and the Home Dialysis of North Atlanta. As a medical physician, she truly enjoys the continuity of care of her dialysis patients and building positive and personal relationships with them. She strives to contribute to the health of the community and helping the poor with their clinical and personal health concerns. For those entering the field, Dr. Nguyen advises “Being a nephrologist is hard work. It is better to take care of a problem immediately—don’t let it fester! Work does not stop when you leave the office.”

An academic scholar, Dr. Nguyen completed her undergraduate studies at The University of New South Wales, N.S.W. Australia, where she obtained her Bachelor of Medical Science, Bachelor of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Surgery degree. Thereafter, she completed her internship at The Good Samaritan Hospital, the University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, Mt. Pritchard Medical Center, Australia, and her Medicine Residency Westmead Hospital, Australia. She then went onto complete a fellowship program in Nephrology at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. With a commitment to excellence, Dr. Nguyen is board-certified in Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
