Dr. Genevieve Montagu von Walstrom, M.D., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Medicine. Dr. von Walstrom is a Physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York Methodist Hospital. With an acute care unit and an extensive array of ambulatory and outpatient sites and services, the staff at New York Methodist Hospital strives to provide excellent healthcare services in a compassionate and humane manner to the people who live and work in Brooklyn and its surrounding areas.
The recipient of the Galloway Fellowship Program at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Dr. von Walstrom’s areas of expertise include obstetrics and gynecology, surgical gynecological oncology, and sexual reproductive research. In 2013, Dr. von Walstrom earned the title of first place at the Brooklyn Gynecology Society Annual Research Symposium Research Presentation, where she presented her study titled: “Clinical Utility of a Chemoresponse Assay for Gynecologic Malignancies; A Multi-Institutional Study.”
Throughout the course of her education and training, Dr. von Walstrom received several honors and awards. She was honored with the Best Resident of the Year Award through the Physicians Alumni Association at New York Methodist Hospital in 2013, as well as multiple educational honor programs. Dr. von Walstrom obtained Honors in Basic Sciences and Clinical Curriculum from the Ross University School of Medicine, Honors in The Visiting Elective Clerkship Program -Surgical Gynecologic Oncology, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center-Weill Cornell Medical College, and Honors in The Visiting Elective Clerkship Program- Sexual Medicine and the Oncology Patient, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center -Weill Cornell Medical College in 2010.
In 2005, Dr. von Walstrom ranked third place out of sixty four finalists at National Biological Honor Society Research and Award Convention at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Additionally, she was a Grant Award Recipient with the HELIX Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation at the University of Vermont the previous year.
Dr. von Walstrom is currently in the progress of attaining her New York State Medical License, and holds the following certifications: National Certification Cooperation, Electronic Fetal Monitoring, Da Vinci Robotics Training Module Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Certification, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support through the American Heart Association. Outside of work, she enjoys bikram yoga, downhill skiing, marathon running, contemporary poetry, and piano. She received her Medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine, as well as a BA in Biological Sciences from the University of Vermont at Burlington.
