Ramon Namnun

 Ramon Namnun, M.D., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Education as a result of his role as Principal of the High School of World Cultures. Dedicating to providing a rich, integrated education for local bilingual and bicultural youth, the High School of World Cultures strives to prepare students for academic and future excellence through a variety of educational programs, activities and clubs.

 Dr. Namnun has over twenty years of experience in education. He was a classroom teacher for nine years before attaining his position as principal in 2003. In this capacity, his areas of expertise include K-12 education, educational administration and leadership, classroom, staff development, security and more. As Principal, he is responsible for budgeting and finances, curriculum design and lesson planning. Since he became Principal in 2003, he has successfully developed and implemented several strategies for student welfare. Two of the most successful to date are Dr. Namnun’s increase in student stability from 77% in 2002 to 97% to present, as well as the graduation rate increasing from 28% in 2002 to 71% in 2007. Furthermore, he is an Executive Board Member on the Council of Supervisor Administrators; and maintains affiliation with the High School Principals Association, Chancellors Advisory Committee, Sacred Heart Church and Monastery and the Mentor Principal Program. In his spare time, Dr. Namnun enjoys cooking and photography.

 

Throughout the course of his education and training, Dr. Namnun earned his M.D. from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, and completed his medical internship at St, Claire’s Hospital. In addition, he attained his Master of Education from CUNY City College, the City University of New York as well as his Fellowship in Educational Leadership from Columbia University.
