Dr. Leonard Barry Smith, DDS

Dr. Leonard Barry Smith, DDS, is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Healthcare as a result of his role as a Pediatric Dentist with Dental Care for Children. As the first formally trained pediatric dentist in Calgary, Dr. Smith went on to set up the first pediatric dental practice in the region in 1972, where he has been nothing but successful ever since. In this capacity, his areas of concentration include pediatric dentistry, cosmetic and restorative dentistry, preventative care and medical education.

Dr. Smith performs fluoride treatments, cleanings and checkups as well as braces and various orthodontic treatments. In addition to private practice, Dr. Smith is also on staff as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University Of Calgary Department Of Pediatrics. He is the recipient of the Integrity Award by Rotary Club International- Downtown Calgary Chapter, and he is the proud Founder and President of the not-for- profit society, The Foundation for a Healthy Mouth, Healthy Child.

A member of the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Smith is the President of the Society for Dentistry for the Handicapped, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He maintains affiliation as a Lifetime Fellow with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and is a Lifetime Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry as well. Throughout the course of his education and training, Dr. Smith earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University Of Alberta School Of Dentistry.
