Francie Stoner

Francie Stoner, MT (ASCP) is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Communications as a result of her role as CEO and Partner with DifCom Designs, a leading source for transforming business communications and President and Founder of The LAUGHH Foundation.

Francie retired in July of 2013 with nearly three decades of experience with the Cerner Corporation, an incredibly innovative healthcare transformation company. As a vice president and executive responsible for Emergency Medicine and other specialties, Francie also specialized in coaching others to be great at motivating people to change. Francie’s diverse healthcare background in medical technology, radiology, emergency medicine, and office practice management, as well as her exposure to IT in incredible amounts, has given her great insight into the diverse world of healthcare, IT and software computing, and the world of communication. Her focus in DifCom Designs is helping people experience new communication success, understanding how to get their messages across and motivating people to action in industries such as healthcare, engineering and legal services. Prior to establishing DifCom Designs, presenting to executives around the world was an everyday event for Francie. In 2010 alone, she delivered over 140 presentations to healthcare executives from over 300 different organizations around the world. For two decades, she had been responsible for developing and delivering Cerner’s key messages and story in the Experience Theater, part of Cerner’s world-renown Vision Center.

Throughout her career, Francie worked with a partner to develop a Cerner-focused 3 day workshop that over the 10 year run was given was the #1 ranked learning experience by Cerner associates who had been trained under Francie’s leadership. Over her last 2 years at Cerner, Francie developed a new training program that has been delivered to over 1,500 associates and again has the #1 ranking for learning experiences at Cerner. She and her partner, Bryan Ritter, have trained more than 40 associates in facilitating that program so that she and Bryan could move into the industry and provide Communications Training Excellence to other organizations as well. Additionally, in 2013, Francie launched her not-for-profit foundation — The LAUGHH Foundation — Live Abundantly Using Guided Helping Hands (LAUGHH). Our mission is to serve those who are underserved through medical missions, service projects, and education. We are preparing for our first healthcare mission trip which will take place in 4 towns around Bucaramanga, Colombia July 17-26, 2014. Disappointed with the aspect of traditional mission trips she had experience where there was a big, caring effort but not lasting effect or change, she has designed LAUGHH mission trips differently so that there is sustainability in their care after they leave their patients.

Not only will patients see nurses and doctors, often specialists that they would otherwise never have a chance of seeing, they will also see a nutritionist who will explain their diagnoses, what causes it and what they can do from a dietary standpoint to manage, prevent or cure their condition. Then the patients will work with an exercise specialist to understand why exercise is essential to improving their life and how to do them. For example, yoga for hypertension, Pilates for obesity. In Colombia, they eat few vegetables and not enough fruit, while eating a tremendous excess of starches, use large quantities of salt, and are sedentary. And this is worse in the poverty-stricken population. So her goal is not only to educate them about nutrition and diet, but to work with children in schools to start vegetable and fruit gardens and to change the culture and improve health! The beautiful thing is that the local governments are whole-heartedly supporting this program and will be working alongside our volunteers. THERE is the sustainability!

Once this program is solid, it will be brought back to the US to help children to improve their nutrition/diet and exercise and quality of life. In addition, LAUGHH will have a focus on helping kids and young adults learn how to play the game of life well. With techniques used in her DifCom Designs Communication Training, she teaches several concepts from the NeuroLinguistic Programming body of science that help people understand how to psych themselves UP not OUT!
