Dr. Adrienne Walker Hoard is recognized by Conti- nental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Higher Education. Dr. Hoard is the Director of Black Studies at the University of Missouri- Kansas City. Founded in the late 1820s, the University of MissouriKansas City, part of the University of Missouri system is a public research university with a variety of undergraduate and graduate coursework as well as top tier research opportunities.

A seasoned educator with over thirty years of experience, Dr. Hoard’s areas of concentration include art education, black culture, business development, curriculum design, program management, visual arts and more. In this capacity, Dr. Hoard utilizes her expertise to further educate students on the history and contemporary impact of African-American artists in American society. In addition to her career in at the university, Dr. Hoard is also an artist, jewelry maker and cultural researcher. She is extremely passionate about education, making art and spreading her wealth of knowledge.

 

 Furthermore, Dr. Hoard maintains affiliation with the National Art Education Association, Girl Scouts of America and the United Negro College Fund. In her spare time, she enjoys bead sewing and painting. Throughout the course of her educational career, Dr. Hoard obtained her Doctorate of Art Education degree from the University Of Illinois- Urbana-Champaign as well as a Master of Fine Art from the University of Michigan along with her undergraduate degree in Fine Studio/Arts and Education from Lincoln University.
